History
The Holyoke Creative Arts Center at the end of I-391 in Holyoke is an adult learning center dedicated to the instruction of home arts and crafts. We are located behind the South Street Plaza at 400 South Elm Street. Our main entrance and parking is at the rear of the plaza.
The center promotes traditional values such as individual creativity, skill development and self-reliance through classroom instruction of many lost arts and crafts of past generations. As an invaluable resource and teaching facility for over 90 years, the Center provides a variety of unique educational programs and services to the entire Pioneer Valley community.
The Center has met many educational challenges over the years, and has grown and developed programs to meet ever changing needs and demands of all members in todays community. Over two dozen different types of classes are offered to the public at a minimal cost. Classes are taught by artisans, craftspeople and experts. Students reap not only the learned educational skills, but gain economic, social, and therapeutic benefits as well. The center is always open to new ideas, skills and crafts to introduce to the students. Do you have a skill and have the opportunity to teach this class? Give us a call at 532-0465!
