Students and supporters are invited to join HCAC as members for each fiscal year, running July 1 through June 30. Membership entitles students to take classes at member tuition rates and to receive member discounts on classes, bus trips, and gallery consignments. Membership contributions are tax deductible.

  • Individual Membership – $45
  • Family Membership – $60

Class Registration
There are several ways to register for classes at HCAC:

  • Register online through our website
  • Call and register by phone
  • Visit HCAC during office hours and fill out a registration form or use one of our community kiosks and register online

Tuition costs vary by class and session length (6, 8, 9 week sessions, for example). Please check the most current schedule to determine tuition costs for the specific class you are interested in taking. Current members receive a discount on class tuition.

Payment is due upon registration. Your registration is considered confirmed when payment is received. You may pay by cash, check or credit card. If you register online, you must pay by credit card. Checks should be made payable to Holyoke Creative Arts Center. You may pay for membership fees with your tuition payments.

Confirming Your Registration & Class Minimum Enrollment
Classes are offered on a first come first serve basis and run if minimum enrollment is reached. If the class you registered for has not reached minimum enrollment, you will be notified of cancellation or postponement before the scheduled start date. If you do NOT receive a call or email from HCAC and are unsure if your class is running, please contact us to confirm.

Refund Policy

  • Classes Cancelled by HCAC – 100% refund/credit
  • Student withdraws 7 days before first scheduled class – 100% refund/credit (less $25 registration fee)
  • Student withdraws after start of first scheduled class – NO REFUND
  • Refunds are only given in check form

Materials & Equipment
Class tuition does not include fees for materials unless otherwise noted. Materials and equipment lists are available for each class. Some classes offer the option of purchasing materials from the instructor and HCAC has a store onsite for Upholstery students, which provides many of the materials required for the class.

Please note: Chair Seating/Caning requires a two week pre order period before class begins to order appropriate caning materials. If you plan to take this class, please contact the instructor to discuss your project immediately.

If you call or come to HCAC in person, please request the materials list for your class. If you register online, materials lists are included in the class descriptions on our website.

Holiday Closings, Weather Cancellations & Make-up Classes

Holiday Closings:
HCAC is closed on Memorial Day, the week of July 4th, Labor Day, Thanksgiving and Christmas.

Weather Cancellations:
Weather closings are reported on Channel 40.

  • Day Classes
    If Holyoke Schools are closed, then HCAC day classes will be cancelled. We will schedule make-up classes or provide refunds for any cancelled classes.
  • Evening Classes
    In the case that the weather clears up, evening classes may be held. Check the HCAC website, HCAC FaceBook page or your email to determine if evening classes are being held. Every effort will be made to inform students about closings and cancellations.

Make-up Classes:
Make-up classes are generally not permitted.
